Another exciting day on the ice for the Squirt 3 team! Today Westfield Jr. Bombers played FCHA (Franklin County Hockey Association) in a well matched up game. Bryce Alaconis tended the goal this morning with 14 saves. J.J. Fox fired on FCHA goalie for the first goal of the game just 2 minutes in. It would seem that would set the mood for the rest of the game. J.J. Fox then scored again with just 2:23 minutes left in the 1st. Multiple attempts were made on goal by Westfield but it would be J.J. Fox to score again in the 2nd making the score 3 to 2 Westfield. Several more attempts were made on goal by Mason Garrity, Reid Imbriglio, Nolan Lafayette, Case Viamari, Michael Miller and Jack Cashman. FCHA kept up the pressure and scored to tie the game. J.J. Fox then answered back with a fourth goal at the 8:34 mark. Franklin County then pulled out all the stops and scored an additional 2 goals on Westfield to win the game. Nolan Lafayette was awarded the game puck today, great job Nolan! Everyone brought 110% to the ice today, excellent job Westfield!

Today the Westfield Jr. Bombers went stick to stick with their arch rivals the Ludlow Wildcats. The last time the two teams played together it ended in a tie game. Today was different; Westfield came out of the box with fire in their bellies, prepared and ready for battle! Jack Cashman played between the pipes today with a total of 17 saves. First period was truly a battle of the wills, Westfield attacked the Wildcats at all angles, and the first goal was made by Nolan Lafayette with the assist by J.J. Fox, a minute later J.J. Fox scored unassisted on Ludlow for goal number two. Westfield was relentless, Spencer Roy, Sean Rodgers and Reid Imbriglio battled for the puck, making several attempts on goal as well. The third goal was made by J.J. Fox assisted by Sean Rodgers with 5:51 left, and this was just the first period!
The second period was nail biter for sure! The Bombers spent a large amount of quality time in the Wildcats territory, with Ryan DeFalco leading the charge, Sara McMahon, Kailyb Santiago, John Lacey, Ryan Rodgers, Michael Miller and Case Viamari were a force to be reckoned with utilizing their excellent passing and teamwork skills. After a few stints in the penalty box for both sides, on the power play, Nolan Lafayette scores assisted by Sean Rodgers with just 24.9 seconds left in the period. The third period was all about defense, Bryce Alaconis, Mason Garrity and Garrette Ondrick wrestled down the Wilcats with excellent passing and stellar stick work. Ludlow did not go down with a fight though, they were able to sneak one goal past goalie Cashman at the 3:05 minute mark. Today the game puck was awarded to Spencer Roy, great job Spencer!
