WESTFIELD – City officials inspected the property at 0 East Mountain Road late this week following complaints that owners Mark and Chris Dupuis illegally cleared the land.

Ward 6 Councilor William Onyski said representatives from Building, Law, Police, Fire, Public Works, Stormwater and the Conservation Commission were given access to inspect the property by the Dupuis’ surveyor and attorney, who were also present. Five or six people from MassWildlife also went on the inspection, according to Onyski.

Onyski met them there, but was not allowed on the property, only inspectors. He said the Conservation, Stormwater and Building departments will categorize and list what appears to be wetlands, stormwater and building violations, and plan to meet next week to discuss remediation and fines.

“It’s possible the state can do the most on this, either through remediation or fines,” Onyski said.
