WESTFIELD: Clara A. Page, 90, (1931-2021) of Westfield died Friday, November 12, 2021 at Westfield Gardens. She was born in Westfield to Louis Rousseau and Minnie (Broga) Rousseau. She married Newell Page on February 3, 1951 who preceded her in death. Clara graduated with a Master’s Degree in education and taught in the Westfield School system for 35 years. She started at Highland Elementary, then Smith Avenue and finished at South Middle. She loved teaching and her world revolved around the teaching community and the students. The family has met several of her students through the years and every one of them loved Mrs. Page. Clara was an only child, her mother passed when Clara was 24 and her aunt, Freda George stepped in. Freda’s daughters, Dale Dickson and Zane Skerry considered her their new sister. She was Auntie Clara to Ellen Dickson Jordan and her family and they spent all holidays, birthdays and special events together. Clara was godmother to several children of friends and relatives. She was particularly close to one godchild, Doreen Mayhew, who cared for Clara for many years.
Clara leaves several cousins, friends and her cherished dog, Missy.
A Funeral Service will be held on Sunday at 1 PM in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St., Westfield, MA. A Visiting hour will precede the service from 12-1 PM in the funeral home.
