WESTFIELD – Clayton O. Tompkins passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, surrounded by his loving wife of 54 years Karen L. Tompkins, and his daughter Noel R. Whalen, and son Jason E. Tompkins.
Clayton was predeceased by a daughter Kelley M. Tompkins.
He is survived by a sister Pat Mascetti, and his brother Franklin Tompkins, and grandchildren Brandon Tompkins and Eliza Whalen.
Clayton worked for many years as a laborer for Westfield River Paper Company before retiring in 1984. He also served the city of Westfield Massachusetts on their auxiliary police force. Clayton was a long-time member of Central Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon on the Men’s Fellowship, and sang in the choir where he could exhibit his passion for singing. He also had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
A funeral service will be held at 1 pm and calling hours will be from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M on Saturday, June 11th at Firtion Adams Funeral Home, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, MA. Flowers and donations can be sent to the home. Burial will be after services at Pine Hill Cemetery in Westfield and a reception at Central Baptist Church in Westfield to follow. Firtionadams.com.
