WESTFIELD – Cora M. (Greene) Flouton, 94, (1929-2024) passed peacefully on March 14th, 2024. She was born in Westfield MA, October 29th, 1929.
Cora was predeceased by her husband of 63 years Thomas Flouton on October 1st, 2014. Cora was the youngest child of Nettie (Barnes) Stiles and Charles Greene and predeceased by her five brothers and three sisters.
Cora will be sadly missed by her daughter Eileen Adams, partner Steve Shepardson, son Tim and daughter-in-law Carol Flouton, all of West Springfield. Cora leaves six grandchildren: Dan Adams and wife Randi, Brian Adams, Ashley Hopkins and husband Peter, Chelsea Flouton, Tim Lynch, Caitlin Blanco and husband Martin, and six great-grandchildren – Aydan, Skylar, Noah, Wylder, Sloane and Jack.
Cora spent most of her life in Westfield. The family is very grateful for many outstanding caregivers for Cora over the years especially Carol Ann and Barb. Cora retired as head bookkeeper from Westfield State College in 1986. She loved to spend time with her family and friends. Cora was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling for many years and loved music and dancing. Her favorite spot was toes in the sand on Maine beaches.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, at 11:30 a.m. from the Firtion Adams Funeral Home, 76 Broad Street, followed by a Mass at 12:30 p.m. in St. Mary’s Church, Bartlett Street, Westfield. Burial will be held in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, from 4-6 p.m. in the funeral home. www.firtionadams.com
