Antonio L. Luis, 42, of 23 Noble Ave., Westfield, pleaded guilty to a charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle brought by Westfield police and was placed on probation for one year. He was assessed $300, his license was suspended for 60 days and a charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor, a subsequent offense, was not prosecuted. He was found to be not responsible for a charge of speeding and for a marked lanes violation.

Curtis W. Newton, 43, of 20 Eagle St., Southwick, was released on his personal recognizance pending an Dec. 27 hearing after he was arraigned on charges of assault and battery on a family or household member and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon brought Southwick police.

Phillip G. Follis, 43, of 8 Brentwood Road, Chelmsford, pleaded guilty to a charge of uttering a false check brought by Westfield Police and was sentenced to a six month term in the house of correction, suspended, with probation for one year.

Jocquell A. Stewart, 23, of 63 Washington Street, Westfield, was released on his personal recognizance pending a Dec. 27 hearing after he was arraigned on a charge of assault and battery on a family or household member brought by Westfield Police.
