In a jury trial, Ralph S. Canterbury, 67, of 139 Roosevelt Ave., Westfield, was found to be not guilty of a charge of open and gross lewdness brought by Westfield police.

Allison F. Blair, 24, of 74 Hagan Ave., Westfield, submitted to facts sufficient to warrant a guilty finding for a charge of shoplifting by asportation brought by Westfield police and the charge was continued without a finding with probation for three months. She was assessed $50.

Kevin J. Santiago, 22, of 16 Alverd St., Springfield, saw a charge of disorderly conduct brought by Westfield police dismissed upon immediate payment of a $125 fine.

Gary S. Garfield, 56, of 7 Third Ave., Westfield, saw a charge of violation of an abuse prevention order brought by Westfield police dismissed when the alleged victim claimed Fifth Amendment protection and refused to testify.

Irene J. Hewes, 54, of 29 East Silver St., Westfield, saw a charge of violation of an abuse prevention order brought by Westfield police dismissed when the alleged victim claimed Fifth Amendment protection and refused to testify.

Oleg Romanchenko, 32, of 19 Shepard St., Westfield, submitted to facts sufficient to warrant a guilty finding for a charge of assault and battery brought by Westfield police and the charge was continued without a finding with probation for one year. He was assessed $50. In a second case also brought by Westfield police, Romanchenko saw a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon not prosecuted.

Joshua Alamed, 30, of 156 Main Road, Colrain, was released on his personal recognizance pending a Sept. 26 hearing after he was arraigned on charges of possession of a Class E drug and shoplifting by concealing merchandise brought by Westfield police.

Brian J. Wood, 42, of 39 Beach Road, Southwick, pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a Class A drug brought by Southwick police and was sentenced to a six month term in the house of correct with credit for time served awaiting trial.

Brad F. Elder, 29, of 72 Meadow St., Westfield, was released on his personal recognizance pending a Sept. 26 hearing after he was arraigned on a charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor (a second offense) brought by Westfield police.

Clinton E. Hawley, 55, of 576 Quarry Road, Becket, pleaded guilty to a charge of using a motor vehicle without authority brought by State Police and was placed on probation until Sept. 28, 2018. A charge of larceny of a motor vehicle was not prosecuted. In a second case also brought by State Police, Hawley pleaded guilty to a charge of violation of a harassment prevention order brought by State Police and was sentenced to the time he served (one day) awaiting trial.

Cheryl E. Kozaczek, 34, of 200 Southwick Road, Apt. 22, Westfield, was released on her personal recognizance pending a Sept. 26 hearing after she was arraigned on a charge of violation of a harassment prevention order brought by Westfield police.
