WESTFIELD – Cynthia A. (Townsend) Alamed, 56, of Westfield passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday April 1, 2020. Born in Westfield on November 28, 1963, she was the youngest of five children of the late William and Elizabeth (Metzler) Townsend. She was a graduate of Westfield High School, class of 1981, and worked in the wire and cable industry for many years. Most recently, she was the Office Manager for Bannish Lumber Inc. Cindy loved classic (black & white) movies, classic rock & roll and blues music. She was an avid gardener, who enjoyed volunteering at Grandmothers’ Garden in Westfield and assisting with the mailings for CSF Westfield Dollars for Scholars. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her husband and cat Ari, and helping others.
Cindy leaves behind her beloved husband Jeffrey, with whom she shared 30 years of love, fun and laughter. Cindy is survived by: her siblings, Linda Townsend, William Townsend, and Kathy Trombley and her husband John; her nieces and nephews, Melissa Trombley and her partner Chris, Christa Trombley, Eric Trombley, and Caleb Bresnahan and his wife Ashley; and her great-nieces and nephews Thomas and Alexis Trombley, and Ethan and Shaun Bresnahan. Cindy was close with her husband’s family, and also leaves behind her mother-in-law Marie Alamed, her brothers-in-law Thomas Alamed and his wife Marie, and Edward Alamed and his wife Sue; her nieces and nephews, Carol (Solek) Lisella and her husband Anthony Sr., Deric Solek and his wife Tracy, Justin Solek and his wife Ashely, Benjamin Alamed and his wife Christine, Jesse Alamed, Jason Alamed and his wife Melissa, Scot Oberst, John Oberst, and Tammy (Alamed) McKay and her husband Dan; her great-niece and god-daughter Jennifer Koziol, and her great-nieces and nephews, Anthony Lisella, Jr., Colton and Hayden Solek, Stella Alamed, Kendall McKay and the newest addition Samuel Fox Alamed, whom she unfortunately had not met. Cindy was predeceased by her sister June (Townsend) Bresnahan, brother-in-law William R. Alamed Jr., father-in-law William R. Alamed, Sr., and sister-in-law Sandra (Alamed) Solek. A celebration of life service will be held for Cindy, at a future date of the families’ convenience. .
