Daniel Arthur Cunningham

WESTFIELD – Daniel Arthur Cunningham, 44, (1973-2018) died on March 18th 2018 in St. Louis Missouri. He was born on October 12th 1973 in Northampton, Massachusetts, the Beloved son of Sandra M. (Ouimet) and Edward A. Cunningham of Southampton. Daniel grew up on Noreen Drive in Southampton with wonderful neighbors and childhood friends in a fun-loving, tight-knit neighborhood. He graduated from Hampshire Regional High School in 1991 and graduated from Dean College in Franklin, MA with honors. Daniel’s lifetime love and passion of motorcycles and motocross led him to continue his education at MTTI in Rhode Island, where he became a certified motorcycle technician. He opened his own shop with his dad, DC’S Cycle Accessories & Service in Haydenville, MA, and then moved the established business to Westfield in 2006 until 2016. Recently, Daniel’s employment with Gear Property Services led him the opportunity to work motocross and Supercross Nationals with Dunlop Tires throughout the United States, while he owned and ran DCS Suspension for local motocross riders. In the off-season, Daniel worked security at the Hu Ke Lau in Chicopee, MA. Daniel was a huge Oakland Raiders fan since the age of nine. This became quite comical as he married into a die-hard New England Patriots family. Daniel leaves his loving wife, Melissa (Breton) Cunningham of Westfield, his loving and cherished son, Damon Cunningham and his long-time friend and mother of his son, Rebecca Stone of Agawam. He will be sadly missed by his sisters Juliann Sherman and husband Chuck, of Vermont, and Jilleva Cunningham of Westfield. He leaves his father-in-law David Breton and sister-in-law Sonya Murray of Westfield. Dan was a wonderful uncle to nieces, Mariah Sherman and Haley Murray and nephews, Derek Sherman and Jacob Murray. He leaves his treasured Godson, Chad Groeber and Godmother, Anne Girouard. He was predeceased by his Godfather, Ziggy Girouard and his mother-in-law, Cynthia Breton. Daniel’s charismatic charm and outgoing personality formed many life-long friends that will miss him dearly. JMD forever.
