Darryl R. Cupak

WESTFIELD – Darryl R. Cupak, 81, (1944-2025) of Westfield, MA, passed away peacefully at home on October 6th, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Holyoke, MA, on July 30, 1944, he was raised in Willimansett and was a 1962 graduate of Chicopee High School.

Darryl proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1962 to 1965, achieving the rank of E-3. Following his service, he earned an associate degree from Springfield Technical Community College. A skilled and dedicated professional, Darryl worked for H.B. Smith Company as a Senior Service Technician for 44 years, retiring in 2010. He was also the proud owner of State-of-the-Art Heating and Cooling.

In 1968, Darryl married the love of his life, Theresa J. (Boucher) Cupak. They shared 57 wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered around family, friendship, and community. A Golden Gloves boxer with the Holyoke Boys and Girls Club in his younger years. He also found joy in life’s simple blessings, especially swimming in Lake Wyola, golfing and dancing with Theresa. Darryl was a proud grandfather who rarely missed his grandchildren’s sporting events. Darryl’s life was centered around his faith. His trust in the Lord gave him strength, purpose, and peace, and it shaped the way he lived every single day.

Darryl is survived by his beloved wife, Theresa J. (Boucher) Cupak, and their children Darryl Cupak, Jr. from New Hampshire, Dustin Cupak of Westfield and his late wife Patti Cupak, Kristen Cimini of Westfield and her Fiancée Bruce Bradley and his four children. He also leaves his grandchildren Seth Cupak and wife Angie, Jake Cupak, Jack Cimini and Ryan Cimini. Great-grandchildren Easton and soon to be great-granddaughter Cupak. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews, many cherished friends who will miss him deeply.

In his final days, Darryl was cared for by the incredible team at hospice, whose compassion, dignity, and support provided comfort not only to him but to his entire family.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 13th from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, MA. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by an 11:30 a.m. Mass at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church, 127 Holyoke Road, Westfield. Burial with military honors will follow at the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam.
