RUSSELL – David E. Champiney, Sr., 87, passed away on June 22nd, 2023 at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Westfield to the late Louis and 
Christine (Lafreniere) Champiney. David, with his wife Helen, fostered 35 newborn babies over a span of ten years. David proudly served in the Army National Guard in Westfield.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 60 years, Helen M. (Brin) Champiney and is survived by six children, twenty-one grandchildren, and twenty-three great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated for David on Thursday, June 29th, 2023 at 1 p.m. in Holy Family Church, 5 Main St., Russell, MA 01071, with burial to follow in Russell Cemetery, Russell MA.
