WESTFIELD – Dean G. Spencer, 51, died Monday, May 6, 2019 at home. He was born on October 7, 1967 in Holyoke. He grew up in Montgomery, attended local schools and was a 1985 graduate of Gateway Regional High School. After high school he owned and operated a construction company. Dean worked for WGI for 10 years, and worked for Pioneer Tool Supply now Blackhawk Industry Supply as an Application Sales Engineer. He worked above and beyond and took pride in his work. He enjoyed racing go-karts with his family at Pinnacle Raceway and won the Crew Chief of the Year award. He also raced at Whip City Speedway and Stafford Motor Speedway. He loved to deer hunt and got many trophy bucks. Dean also enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, skydiving, quading, jet skiing, NASCAR and boating. He spent his free time at his lake house in Otis. He was always helping family and friends with construction projects and always wanted to be with family and friends. He was an avid Red Sox fan.
Dean leaves his best friend and wife of 28 years Nancy M. (Bouchard) Spencer, his children Kyle Dean Spencer and his wife Kaila of Chester, Tara Marie Spencer and her fiancée Jason of Montgomery, his parents Gerald M. Jr. and Patricia L. (Leary) Spencer, his brother Jeffrey Spencer of Eagle Lake, ME, his paternal grandmother Eunice Spencer of Enfield, CT. and was the best grandpa to Garrett, Alexis, Maverick and Wyatt.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday May 12th from 9am till 1 pm from the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield. A service will follow at 1 pm. Burial will be private. Donations in memory of Dean may be made to the Shriners Hospital, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
