Dominic F. Piergiovanni

Dominic F. Piergiovanni PhotoCHESTER – Dominic Francis Piergiovanni, 84, of Chester, MA passed away yesterday after a brief illness. He was born October 19, 1929 the son of Antonio and Maria Piergiovanni of Chester, MA and was a graduate of the Chester High School Class of 1947.
Dominic served with distinction during the Korean War conflict. He was a retiree of the Massachusetts Highway Department after serving for 36 years in various capacities. He proudly and actively served the Town of Chester in a variety of roles including as a member and Chairman of the Board of Selectman, Chief of Police, member of the Fire Department, Municipal Electric Department Board Member and Water Department member. He was an avid sportsmen and enjoyed hunting and fishing and was also a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He leaves behind his wife of 62 years, Fay (Peltier) Piergiovanni of Chester, MA; his daughters, Tina Piergiovanni Howe and her husband Bill Howe of Blandford, MA and Lisa Piergiovanni Ciejka and her husband Gerry Ciejka of Westfield MA, along with five grandchildren, Krista, Alyssa, Erika, Alexandria and Dominick; his brother and best friend, Antonio Piergiovanni, Jr. of Chester, MA; his sisters, Delfina Marandino of New Britain, CT, Mary McNamara of Chester, MA, Linda Piergiovanni of Chester, MA, and was predeceased by his sisters, Rosina, Margaret, Louisa, Anna and Lucia. The family would like to thank Dr. Paul Lagac of Southwick for his friendship and care over many years. Per the request of the Dominic, there will be a private burial at the convenience of the family.
