WESTFIELD – Doris L. Elander, 80, passed away on June 28, 2013 at home. Born in Southwick, She spent half of her life in Southwick where she attended local schools. She was the daughter of the late Otto and Mary (Goddard) Elander.
Doris spent the second half of her life in Westfield. She devoted her life to the love and care of her pets, the last years of her life she loved her cats “Blackie” and “Snowball”. Doris was a proud member of the Do-Ri-Me singing group. She was blessed with good friends who meant so much to her, especially George Freeman and Marcia Potter, Lisa, Steve, Peter, Debbie, Amy, and Liz. Besides her parents, Doris was predeceased by Mary Ellen Hinckley, Christine Gardocki, Francis Elander, and Samuel Elander. Doris is survived by her special sister-in-law, Mary Elander of Texas, along with her many beloved nieces and nephews and their families.
All arrangements will be private. The Robert E Cusack Funeral Home, Westfield, is assisting the family. Memorial Contributions may be made to the MSPCA, 171 Union Street, Springfield, MA.
