She was born September 29, 1935, in Springfield, MA, a daughter of the late Oliver and Antoinette (Germaine) Pilon. Doris worked many years in customer service. She enjoyed meeting and helping people wherever and whenever possible. She was employed early on by New England Telephone Company as an accountant clerk, later working various positions in customer service, and worked many years at Stop and Shop, in Feeding Hills before transferring to Westerly, Rhode Island, where she lived for 22 years and retired, before returning to Agawam for the past 6 years. She kept busy shopping for the best deals, cooking new recipes, socializing at the Senior Center, and challenging herself on hikes with her daughter. Doris had a great sense of humor and a way with words. She had even been given a commendation by her local mayor that told her that she had a command of the English language. She however loved her French roots and applied them wherever she could. Doris knew how to have fun and always strived to share it with others. She had a way about her that could not be denied, she knew how to make an impression and was all too happy to bring you along for the ride! She will be dearly missed.
