Dorothy E. (Kingsley) Babinski

WESTFIELD – Dorothy E. (Kingsley) Babinski, 93, of Westfield, MA passed away peacefully at home on December 22, 2022. Born on February 11, 1929 in Springfield, Massachusetts, the daughter of Abigail (Jones) and Louis Kingsley, Dorothy attended schools in Chester, and graduated from Westfield High School in 1946. She worked at Whites Quaint Shop Westfield, and Strathmore Paper Company, West Springfield. Following her employment, she enjoyed being a homemaker, tending her beautiful flower garden, and conquering every weed in her yard. During her life she enjoyed helping care for her five grandchildren, family card games and gatherings, shopping with her best friend Mary Jarvis, and Sunday drives with her husband and Zosh Rumanowski.

Dottie was predeceased by her parents, her sister Hazel Affenito, all her brothers and sisters-in-law, and several nieces and nephews.

She is survived by her loving husband Charles “Pep” of 73 years; daughters Gail (Albert) Bean of Westfield, Elizabeth (Rylan) Shepard of Blandford; a stepsister Anne (Chuck) Abbott of Overland Park, KS; five grandchildren, Aaron (Michele), Andrew (Deidre), and Adam Bean, Michelle MacDonald, and Livia Shepard; as well as five great-grandchildren.

Calling hours are Wednesday, December 28th, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Westfield Funeral Home, 4 Princeton St. The funeral begins from Westfield Funeral Home on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at 9:00 a.m. proceeding Holy Trinity Church, 335 Elm St., Westfield, MA for a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
