WESTFIELD – Dr. Alfred J. Plante, Jr. 93, passed away at Baystate Medical Center on Saturday, July 20, 2019. Beloved son to the late Cora (DuBois) and Alfred J. Plante, Sr. Alfred lived in Willimansett, Holyoke and was a longtime resident of Westfield. Dr. Plante was a graduate of Chicopee High School, AIC and Boston School of Podiatry. He established his own office in Westfield, earlier in Holyoke and Pittsfield. He was dedicated to helping others. After his retirement he enjoyed time spent as a substitute para-professional in the local school system. He also enjoyed spending time with his son at his handyman business. He was a Boston sports fan and loved the Red Sox. Dr. Plante was predeceased by his beloved wife Marion J. (Heffernan) Plante in 2011 and is survived by his loving children, Joseph A. Plante and his wife Damaris of West Springfield and Sharon A. Plante with her significant other, Michael Webber of Westfield and one cherished granddaughter, Cheyenne. He also leaves a beloved sister, Gloria (Plante) George, of Holyoke. Donations can be made in memory of Alfred to the Westfield Homeless Cat Project, 1124 E. Mountain Rd, Westfield, MA. A graveside service will be at St. Rose De Lima Cemetery, 49 Olsen St. Chicopee on Wednesday July 24, 2019 at 1 pm. www.firtionadams.com
