SOUTHWICK – On the 18th of February, 1936, the good Lord saw fit to send us one of his own, knowing full well it was only a loan. After 80 full years of a good Christian life, being the finest example of a mother and wife, he saw she was tired, right down to the bone, so the Lord in his mercy, he called her home. She’s back in her place, to the right of his throne she knew that with Jesus, she was never alone.
On the 16th of February, Elaine Lynette (Lee) Bishop was called back to God. She was born in Pittsfield, MA to the late Ernest and Hope (Otis) Lee and graduated from the High School of Commerce in 1953. She was a devoted member of the Blessed Hope Advent Christian Church in Springfield and was a member of the choir for over 50 years, a deaconess and taught Sunday school. A resident of Southwick since 1964, she worked as an assistant activities director at Renaissance Manor. She also enjoyed square dancing and was a published author.
Predeceased by her husband Alfred S. Bishop in 1997, she leaves her sons Keith Bishop and his wife Bonny of Holyoke and Kevin Bishop and his wife Carol of Southwick; daughter Becki Keene and her husband Donald of Maine; grandchildren Meghan Bishop Brown and her husband Chris, Joshua Bishop and his wife Meredith, Mariah Bishop, Jessica Bishop and her partner Michelle, Sydney Keene and Mishelle Keene; great grandchildren Mason and Zoe Brown and Sean and Cameron Bishop and her beloved companion Horace Crouse.
