Westfield Municipal Election Results

The results for the municipal elections in Westfield are in. With 37.89%  (9,048) of the eligible 23,882 voters casting ballots, it is the highest voter turnout for local office elections since 2007 when 41 % of voters turned out for the Bean-Boulanger mayoral race.

Mayor’s race:

Dan Knapik –  4,538 votes garnering 50.15%

Mike Roeder –  4,205 votes garnering 46.47%

Dan Knapik will remain Mayor of Westfield for two more years.

 

At Large City Council:

Jim Adams –  4,382 votes garnering 6.92%

Dan Allie –  3,668 votes garnering 5.79%

Brent Bean –  4,197 votes garnering 6.63%

John Beltrandi –  3,100 votes garnering 4.89%

Matt Collins –  2,976 votes garnering 4.70%

Steve Dondley –  3,257 votes garnering 5.14%

Dave Flaherty –  3,338 votes garnering 5.27%

Cindy Harris –  3,760 votes garnering 5.94%

Kevin Medeiros –  3,066 votes garnering 4.84%

Brian Sullivan –  3,826 votes garnering 6.04%

Agma Sweeney –  2,990 votes garnering 4.72%

Matt VanHeynigen –  3,581 votes garnering 5.65%

Filling the seven At Large Council seats will be Adams, Bean, Sullivan,  Harris, Allie, VanHeynigen, and Flaherty

 

Ward 1:

Mary Ann Babinski –  766 votes garnering 45.27%

Chris Keefe – 777 votes garnering 45.92%

Chris Keefe will remain the Ward 1 City Council representative

 

Ward 2:

Ralph Figy – 585 votes garnering 54.12%

Carl Vincent – 413 votes garnering 38.21%

Ralph Figy becomes the new councilor for Ward 2

 

Ward 3:

Brian Hoose – 830 votes garnering 70.70%

Brian Hoose, who was unopposed becomes the new representative for Ward 3.

 

Ward 4:

Mike Burns – 667 votes garnering 41.82%

Mary O’Connell – 844 votes garnering 52.92%

Mary O’Connell retains her seat representing Ward 4.

 

Ward 5:

Rick Onofrey – 925 votes garnering 43.51%

Bob Paul – 1,060 votes garnering 49.86%

Bob Paul takes over as the new Ward 5 councilor.

 

Ward 6:

Chris Crean – 1,029 votes garnering 74.51%

Chris Crean, who was unopposed, remains the Ward 6 councilor.

 

School Committee:

Bill Duval –  4,099 votes garnering 15.10%

Jeff Gosselin –  4,192 votes garnering 15.44%

Cindy Sullivan –  4,999 votes garnering 18.42%

Mike Tirrell –  4,031 votes garnering 14.85%

Jeff Gosselin joins the School Committee with Duval and Sullivan who were re-elected.

 

Ward 2 G&E Commission:

Lynn Boscher – 345 votes garnering 31.91%

Ray Rivera – 653 votes garnering 60.41%

Ray Rivera gains his first elected office.
