Westfield – Elizabeth H. (DeLand) Laviolette, 79, died at home on Friday, March 17. She was born in Palmer and was the daughter of and Warren and Thelma (Bishop) DeLand. Betty resided in Palmer for most of her life, most recently relocating to Westfield to be closer to her family. She enjoyed ceramics, needlepoint, reading and time with her family. She will be forever missed by her two sons, Rene of Westfield and Robert and his wife Marian of West Springfield along with her grandchildren, Brandon, Kaylee and Justin and four great grandchildren. Her sister, Beverly Paradis and her husband Raymond of Ware along with many nieces and nephews also survive her. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter in law, Deena and siblings, Hubert, George and Robert.
Calling hours will be on Thursday, March 23 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, 1475 N. Main St., followed by a celebration of life service at 6:00 p.m. Burial will be private to the family. Please visit www.beersandstory.com for more information.
