Elizabeth M. “Betty” Fedora

VERMONT: Elizabeth M. “Betty” Fedora, 73, of Aiken Road, a resident of Putney since 1972, died peacefully, Monday evening, March 8, 2021 in the comfort of her home surrounded by family.
Betty was born in Westfield, MA on September 8, 1947, the daughter of Louis and Eleanor (Desautels) Fedora. She was raised and educated in Westfield, graduating from Westfield High School with the Class of 1965. She went on to attend Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Springfield receiving her RN diploma in 1968.

She had been employed at Mercy Hospital in Springfield from 1968 to 1972 and later at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital from 1972 to 2010.

A devout Catholic and steadfast in her walk of faith, Betty was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Parish in Putney where she served as a lecture. Betty enjoyed helping others and had been an active volunteer with Putney Cares and the Putney Community Center.

Of her leisure time activities, she enjoyed nature, the outdoors, walking and keeping a garden every season.

On September 2, 1968 in Westfield, she was married to Leighton Cleverly who is deceased.
Survivors include: three sons, Scot Cleverly of Putney, Eric Cleverly of Laconia, N.H. and Christopher Cleverly of Williamsville; four granddaughters, Aiden Pachette, Lokota Cleverly, Francesca Cleverly and Sophia Cleverly; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by one sister, Patricia Gogol, a brother, William Fedora and a close personal friend, Joseph Geiger.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Putney. Committal Rites and burial will follow in West Hill Cemetery in Putney.

Friends are invited to call at the Atamaniuk Funeral Home on Friday from 4 to 6 P.M.
Due to COVID-19 considerations, (seating limited in church), social distancing and the wearing of masks is required.
