Emil Michaliszyn

MYRTLE BEACH, SC – Emil Michaliszyn, 85, passed away January 10, 2020 in Myrtle Beach, SC of natural causes. He was born March 15, 1934 in Lvov, Ukraine. Emil loved God and his family. He was outgoing about his faith and enjoyed talking to everyone he met about the goodness of God. His passions were attending church services, spending time with his family, and fishing. Emil was a survivor in life. He overcame both German and Russian occupation of his home in Poland during World War II.

As a young man in 1965, Emil immigrated to Massachusetts from Poland, and then sent for his wife Pauline and three children. There, he provided a stable and safe environment for them, with great opportunities. Emil worked at Amtrak most of his life. He was a dedicated worker, enjoying the feeling of accomplishment as well as the social opportunities that work offers. He often had multiple jobs, and supported his family well. Emil was active in his church, whether he lived in West Springfield, MA or Myrtle Beach, SC. His dedication and consistency showed that church and God were a priority in his life.

Emil was predeceased by his parents Mikolaj and Anne Michaliszyn, his wife Pauline Michaliszyn, and brother Gerry. Emil is survived by his brother Mikolaj (Nick) his spouse Rose and his sister Eugenia, her spouse Alex and their children Iris and Rose.

Emil leaves behind his wife Olga (Stoiano) Michaliszyn, his four children and their spouses, Marian Michaliszyn and Linda (Bell) Michaliszyn of Springfield, MO, Lydia (Michaliszyn) Frazee and Jeff Frazee of Feeding Hills, MA, John Michaliszyn and Gabriella Ellen (Peters) Michaliszyn of Westfield, MA, and David Michaliszyn and Jennifer (Lee) Michaliszyn of Bedford, MA, and grandchildren Benjamin (and his spouse Angela), Emily, Madeline, and Christian Michaliszyn, Taryn, Lindsay, and Jordan Frazee, Justin and Kyle Michaliszyn, and Nathan and Corinne Michaliszyn.

Calling hours will be Friday January 17th at 6-7pm, Memorial service following at 7pm, both at Full Gospel Church 110 Union St. Westfield, MA. The funeral will be Saturday January 18th, 10am at Full Gospel Church, with interment at Springfield Street Cemetery, Agawam MA.

Reception for family and close friends Saturday at Bethany Assembly of God 580 Main St, Agawam, MA.
