SOUTHWICK – Eugene S. Steward, 82, (1935 – 2018) passed away on October 8, 2018. Born in Rumford, ME on November 27, 1935, he was the son of the late Eugene F. and Albina E. (Mahar) Steward. From June, 1956 – April, 1960, he proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and in 1995, retired from the National Guard. In 1960, Eugene and his wife, Virginia, moved to Southwick shortly after their marriage. He had worked for many years before retiring for the Town of Southwick. Eugene was also a volunteer on the Southwick Fire Department and at Southwick Motocross. Besides his parents, Eugene is predeceased by his daughters Kathleen Wysocki and Sherry White and his brothers Harold Steward and Philip Milligan. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Virginia (Goodell) Steward; children Rose White, Lisa Steward, Eugene Steward and Mary Steward; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, October 15, 2018 from 9:30 – 11:30 AM at the Southwick Forastiere Funeral Home, 624 College Highway, Southwick, MA with a service beginning at 11:30 AM.
