To the Editor

To my friends throughout Westfield, and especially in Ward 3.  Have any of you been following the Question 1 commercials?  This is important, many of you know that you or a loved one will go to a hospital at some time?

With my 50+ years of being involved in politics and government red flags with fireworks went off.  1. How much, and from where, has the Vote NO group spent?  Due to Dark Money, and loopholes from Citizens United which has exempted corporations from the more usual rules; that is money contributed from unnamed donors is often untraceable.  But, with a constant flow of commercials it that is a lot of money coming from somewhere.  The Secretary of State’s has sent out the ballot question info/fact pamphlet; READ IT.  The second questionable NO vote tactic is the cleaver insertion of “THE GOVERNMENT” telling how many nurses… First, that is a buzz word commonly used to con people into agreeing, as no one wants “government” involved.  But, it would be the hospitals that determine their own policies as to how many are needed in what functions?  And, if all the terrible things described were to happen, wouldn’t there be a lot of malpractice suits by the hospitals? So read this carefully, listen to both YES and NO, don’t allow a rush to judgement or another very effective con job based upon your personal biases cause you to vote in a way that as usual ends up harming you.  This sounds like an impasse put on the voters.  This kind of arbitration should happen at each hospital with those who know the ebb and flow of injuries at each.  I agree that you cannot set numbers based upon a one size fits all.  Like just about everything, there are too many variables that are different at each.

I am voting No so that these issues could go to case by case arbitration.  It would be really good to have UNBIASED third party negotiators that fact find the needs, assess the individual hospital’s needs and help them come up with a solution.  Unfortunately trusting anyone to be unbiased; and with the predatory norms in the business of things…that may be real hard.

OK, to end this a Brian Hoose question:  Let’s say the Dems take the House, and the Senate….Will Trump change sides with his rhetoric?  We should set up a pool, and take bets (is anyone from MGM reading this?).  Oh, one more who is paying for all the Presidential rallies?  Trump spent the entire National Security budget for his security last year in 6 months.  I kind of wish the swamp was back, his Country Club Crew is costing us the Tax Payers, millions on themselves.  I know in the corporate exec. world, business takes care of their personal expenses, others are their tax deductions and the rest get passed on to the consumers; and again that is us.  Notice costs going up?  Your former Ward 3 City Councilor, Brian Hoose…[email protected]
