WESTFIELD – Evelyn A. (LaBombard) Moquin, 86, (1935-2022) passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at Baystate Medical Center. She was born in Springfield to the late Armond and Victoria (Bielinski) LaBombard. Evelyn was a very crafty woman, sewing, baking, and knitting in her Wednesday knitting group. She baked apple pies for many years for Barney’s Restaurant and The Flight Deck. She enjoyed her monthly lunches with the “kids” from the Class of 1953 at the Tavern Restaurant and loved her vacations to Cape Cod. She touched so many people in so many ways. She was a mother to all, her children, grandchildren and the kids in the neighborhood. Overall, her most precious was her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will remember her nicknames for everyone, game times together and her belly laugh.
Sadly, Evelyn was predeceased by her beloved husband of 65 years, Raymond Moquin in 2021, a daughter Sandy Moquin, her brother, Donald LaBombard and her sister Barbara Socha.
She is survived by her loving children, James Moquin and his wife Jessica of Westfield, William Moquin and his wife Jane of Bernardston, Susan Moquin of Hampden and Sally Bein and her husband Darren of Westfield, and her cherished eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, in St. Mary’s Church, Bartlett St., Westfield. Burial will be private.
Her family would like to thank the staff at Baystate Medical Center ICU, Dr. Dean and all the nurses for the care given to Evelyn. Donations in Evelyn’s name may be directed to the St. Mary’s Church Growing Tree Endowment Fund, 30 Bartlett St., Westfield. MA 01085.
