Chicken Pie Supper

October 19, 2019 @ 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

The Montgomery Historical Society kicks off the fall season with its annual Chicken Pie Supper on Saturday, October 19 at 6:30 p.m. in Union Hall (Town Hall) in Montgomery Center. Westfield and Hilltown neighbors and friends are invited to enjoy an evening of good food and an interesting program to top it off! The menu includes the Chicken Pie, mashed potatoes, gravy, vegetables, cranberry sauce, home-baked dessert, and beverages – at the bargain price of $10 per adult ($5 for children age 10 and under). We will also have a 50/25/25 raffle. Reservations are requested as soon as possible, by calling Laura at 862-8095. Proceeds of this supper help to support the annual scholarship(s) given by the Historical Society to graduating Montgomery seniors.

Our guest speaker for the evening will be Westfield native Bruce Cortis (now of Feeding Hills) discussing “Whips of Westfield – The Rise and Decline of an American Industry.” Mr. Cortis has written a book of the same name based on his in-depth research to raise awareness of Westfield’s whip heritage and the importance of this industry to the growth of Westfield. He presented his findings in May at Westfield State University during one of the many historical lectures supported by the Westfield 350th Anniversary Committee. Please join us for an enjoyable evening Reservations needed soon!
