February 3, 10:00am. Family History 101: Are you wondering where to begin in your family history research? Come learn about how to begin your project and the records and resources you may encounter along the way. Part of the Southwick Public Library’s 250th calendar of events. Please call the library to register.

 

February 4, 6:30pm. Dot Journaling: Get a fresh start in the new year and learn about dot journaling! Dot journaling is whatever you want it to be- a diary, a log, planner, to-do list, and more. Start the new year off on the right foot and with a new hobby! We’ll have all the supplies you need. To register, call 413-569-1221. Ages 12+.

 

February 5, 1:30pm. Afternoon Book Discussion: This month’s group will be discussing “The Stars Are Fire” by Anita Shreve. Copies are available for purchase at the library or through loan.

 

February 10, 6:30pm. Color Chat & Cookies: Southwick Public Library’s Color, Chat and Cookies for Adults.

The program is free and open to all. All materials are provided. Bring a friend!

 

February 18, 6:30pm. Socrates Café: The Socrates Cafe is an opportunity for ordinary people to wrestle with the big questions in a discussion. Alternative viewpoints are encouraged and explored. All discussion takes place in an atmosphere of respect and encouragement. People from all walks of life are encouraged to attend and contribute their unique views.

 

February 19, 7pm. Evening Book Club: Join us for an evening book discussion for adults. Copies are available at the library to borrow. We will be reading and discussing Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid.

 

February 25, 6:30pm. Cookbook Club. Registration is required. February’s book is Healthy-Ish by Lindsay Maitland Hunt. Each participant is asked to make one regular sized recipe so everyone can taste. If you’d like to attend, please contact the library at 413-569-1221 or email [email protected]. Email the library your recipe name. Please be advised: neither the food served at the cookbook club, and prepared in home kitchens, nor the facilities have been inspected by the state or local public health agency.

 

February 26, 6:00pm. Sit ‘n’ Stitch: For knitters, crochet-ers, and embroiderers! Get help with a project or enjoy some quiet time to work.
