Teen Special FX Makeup– Monday, July 22, 4:00-5:30. Kyle Pascuitti of Decimated Designs, who has traveled all over the country to offer his skill for events, including Terrificon and Trail of Terror is coming to Southwick Public Library to demonstrate how professionals make monsters jump to life. This workshop will cover the do’s and don’ts of effects makeup, hygiene, how to get started, and some of the tricks you can use to improve your costumes or makeup at home. Some teens will get to have an effect demonstrated on them too! This program is for students entering 7-12th grade. Space is limited, sign up required. Teen Pizza and Pages Book Club–Tuesday, July 30, 2:30-5. Bring your reading to life! Come to the Southwick Public Library for lively discussion, activities and pizza in a welcoming, friendly group. We will be reading “A Monster Calls” by Patrick Ness and watching the 2016 film adaptation (PG 13). A copy of the selected reading will be provided to club members free of charge as long as they attend the book club meeting. Sign up required- call Heather at 413-569-1221 ext.3.

 

Birds of Prey- Friday, August 2, from 1:00-2:00. Come to the Southwick Public Library to celebrate the closing of another Suntime Reading Program! Wingmasters will be coming to introduce you to live birds of prey. This family of birds, also known as raptors, includes falcons, hawks, eagles and owls. Learn about what makes them unique, how they hunt, and challenges they face in the changing environment. Meet in the community room from 1:00-2:00. This event is for all ages over 5, no sign up required.
