Southwick’s 250th invites everyone to celebrate the “Winter Carnival”

SOUTHWICK—The Southwick 250 Winter Carnival will be a one-day event for all ages to be held from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Southwick Regional School grounds, and the High School gym, auditorium and hallways. It will be held regardless of whether there is snow on the ground or not on February 15.

At the Auditorium, Ron Greene will present “Memories on Lake Congamond from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, and 12:45 – 1 pm, there will be a Dance Slipper performance. From 1:15 – 2:00 pm, all will enjoy “Southwick Trivia” with Lee Hamberg. There will be another event at 2:10 pm, and the Broadway Musical Singers will perform at 3:05 pm. At 3:45, there will be closing remarks and updates on upcoming events.

Arts and crafts will be from 11:00 am – 3:45 pm, including Salt Art, “God’s Eyes” and Paper Art, all in the hallway. There will be face painting from 11:30 am – 3 pm, and the popular henna tattoos from 12- 3 pm.

The main Gym will sport a basketball free throw contest from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm, with other activities planned. In the auxiliary Gym, a hockey puck shoot out will be held from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm.

There is no charge for participation although donations are greatly appreciated to help defray expenses. Food may be purchased at the event from local food trucks.
