Upcoming February Programs at W Springfield Public Library

The Science of the Paranormal – with Agawam Paranormal: Tuesday, February 19th from 6:30-8:30pm. This exciting presentation will focus on the scientific aspects of the paranormal as well as ghost hunting. The Agawam Paranormal team will explain what goes into conducting an investigation, why they come to use those methods, and will show how “intent” can play a large part in the process. Members of the team will be available for questions. This program is free and open to the public.

 

Sail Away on the Craft of Pastel Painting – with Greg Maichack: Tuesday, March 5th from 6:30-8:30pm. You’ll learn to make light luscious as you develop your pastel painting skills in this new workshop with award-winning local artist and instructor Greg Maichack. You’ll create a version of Monet’s “Sailboat at Le Petit-Gennevilliers” in your own style while listening to captivating and funny anecdotes on Monet’s life and works. Come and experiment with professional pastels, pencils and paper—all materials will be provided. Welcome all adults and teens 18+! Space is limited and registration is required. This program is supported by a grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

 

MS Word Computer Class: Saturday, March 9th from 10-12pm – This introductory word processing class covers the standard features of Microsoft Word. Attendees will learn how to use the file, edit, view, insert and format tabs, as well as how to create letters and lists. The Computer Basics Course or equivalent experience is preferred. Space is limited, registration is required.
