Faith G. Tryon

Tyron Faith large023-2WESTFIELD – Faith G. Tryon, 93, of Pierce, Florida, died Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Lawnwood Regional Medical Center in Fort Pierce. She was born in Westfield to Llewelyn and Ida Smith Goodwin. She was educated in the Westfield schools graduating from High School in 1937 and later became a certified Pre-K teacher. She was widowed in 1947 and re-married in March 1949 to Robert L. Tryon and shared 64 years of life together.
During her lifetime, she was active in Second Congregational Church in Westfield, Eastern Star, Red Hats, and other social groups in her community. She was an accomplished seamstress, enjoyed gardening, the craft of ceramics and loved to dance, having been voted best dancer in her graduating class.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Ralph, Carl, Fred and sisters Ruth, Louise, Dorothy and Arelene. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years Robert L. Tryon of Fort Pierce, FL; four children, Harvey B. Packard of Oregon, Sandra P. Smith of Arizona, Ronald F. Packard of GA and Rosalind R. Tryon of MD. She also leaves to mourn 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 12:00 noon in the Second Congregational Church, 487 Western Ave, Westfield. A reception will follow in the Founders Room at the church. Following the reception burial will be in Silver St. Cemetery in Granville. Calling hours are omitted.
