Westfield – Florence (“Flo”) Lillian (Deraleau) Annino, 86, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 15th. She was born in Springfield on December 3, 1930 to Charles J. Deraleau and Aurore C. (Jarvis) Deraleau. Flo spent her early years attending West Springfield public schools and working for her parents in their restaurant business. She later worked as a waitress and restaurant manager in several local restaurants, including the Fort, the Yankee Pedlar Inn, the Hillbrook House and The Gold Mine. Her later work years were dedicated to serving the students at Westfield State University as a member of the Campus security team, though most of her students thought of her as a second mother, a special friend and a confidante. She was a devout Catholic, and was very proud of her service to St. Mary’s, and in particular, her involvement with the RCIA program and as a Eucharistic Minister. Flo enjoyed cooking ( a great one!), bingo and playing cards with her friends, but her greatest passion was her family and their health and happiness. Flo was predeceased by her husband, Calvin W. Annino, Sr., in 1987, her beloved grandson, Chuckie in 1996, and her brothers, Ernie, Fred, Ray and Baby Lawrence and sisters Ora, Anne, and Rita. She is survived by her three sons and their spouses, Cal and Fran, Chuck and Kathy, and Louie and Denise, all of Westfield, her seven grandchildren, Tony (Elena), Nick, Joey, Taylor (Scott), Kelly (Mike), Heidi (Jose), Heather (John), and seven great grandchildren, Ava, Dominic, Connor, Callie, Ethan, Jameson and Lily.
The funeral will be held on Monday, March 20th at 9:00 am from the Firtion Adams Funeral Home, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. Mary’s Church, 30 Bartlett Street, Westfield.
