SOUTHWICK: Francis C. Zenisky, Jr., 81, (1939-2021) of Southwick, passed away peacefully at home on January 30, 2021, with his wife Emily of 57 years by his side. Fran was born in Westfield on September 4, 1939, to Francis C. and Mary (Bozak) Zenisky, Sr. He graduated from Westfield High School. He served in the Air National Guard for 12 years , including active duty in Phalsbourg, France, and was a proud veteran for all of his life. After leaving the Air National Guard with an honorable discharge in 1973, he pursued a career in aircraft avionics as co-founder and co-owner of Northeastern Avionics at Barnes Airport in Westfield. He later retired from AirNet Services at Bradley Int. Airport.
Fran is survived by his wife, Emily A. (Bannish) Zenisky; son, Carl P. of Southwick; daughter Kimberly A. and her husband Jack Bertherman of Cumberland, RI; brother, George and his wife Frances of Kernersville, NC; step-granddaughter, Jessica Lange of Checotah, OK; along with many nieces and nephews.
Fran was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing, making maple syrup, snowmobiling and cheering on the Red Sox and Patriots. Fran had many special memories that included his family. He would speak of golf tournaments at Edgewood GC and the CC of Bristol in TN; hunting trips to Colorado, Wyoming and Newfoundland; bird hunting with his son and the family English Setter dogs; watching his daughter play in many various sporting events, and the multitude of family get-togethers during the holidays and summer pool parties. Fran was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady of The Lake Church in Southwick and a volunteer for the Southwick Senior Center Bread Program.
