Francis H. Arenstam

FEEDING HILLS – Francis H. “Hank” Arenstam, 83, (1943-2026) entered into eternal rest on Saturday, August 22nd, 2026. Born in Columbus, OH, son of the late Dr. Jacob and Beatrice (Mortimore) Arenstam, he grew up in Russell and was a 1961 graduate of Westfield High School. He lived in Utica, NY before moving to Feeding Hills in 1973. He graduated in 1968 from Western New England College with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

Hank worked as a mechanical engineer for over forty years, retiring from Alstom Power in 2013. He volunteered for and was the District Commissioner for the Boy Scouts of the Western Massachusetts Council, enjoyed doing odd jobs around the house and was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church. Hank was an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan, enjoyed vacationing at Cape Cod and attending his granddaughter’s track meets and his grandson’s soccer games.

He leaves his wife of fifty-three years, Laurice (Giangi) Arenstam, a son, James E. Arenstam of Attleboro, MA, a daughter and her husband, Kathleen M. and Richard Carra of Agawam, a sister and her husband, Sarah and Richard King of Ludlow, two grandchildren, Isabella Carra, John Carra and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, John Arenstam, Michael Arenstam, and a sister, Dorothy (Arenstam) Syriac.

The funeral will be Saturday at 9 a.m. from the AGAWAM CURRAN JONES FUNERAL HOME, 745 Cooper Street followed by a Mass in Sacred Heart Church at 10. The burial is private.
