Frank Olmedo

purple flowersBlandford – Frank Olmedo (1919-2016) Frank’s parents came from Spain, settled in the Bronx, then Albany and finally in Westfield on Union St., where their farm raised corn, apples, strawberries, rabbit, chickens and little dairy from 2 friendly cows. His two sisters, preceded him, Margaret at age 100 in Florida and Anita at age 78 in N.Y.C., two surviving nephews, Edward and Robert live in Vermont and Colorado. Frank rode the rails as a young man for the pure adventure. He joined the Murmansk run of the U.S. Merchant Marine, was decorated by the Russians and sailed the seas from Australia to India where he met his wife Mona and finally settled in Blandford. He lived on his own terms for 97 years and will rest next to his wife. Well done, rest in peace. www.firtionadams.com
