WESTFIELD – Frederick R. Brewster, Jr., 88, passed away peacefully at Baystate Noble Hospital. He was born in Chester on March 25th, 1936 to the late Frederick R. Sr. and Beatrice (Whitaker) Brewster.
Grew up in Littleville, had a couple cows and raced cars up and down River Rd. Fred went to work at 14 years old for his father driving truck. After working for his father, he went on to work for Donovan Brothers Sand and Gravel for 31 years. Then 10 years for the Town of Huntington. After retirement he worked his own tractor and dozer for small jobs.
Fred is predeceased by his beloved wife Camilla (Kelso) Brewster and his sister Barbara D’Astous and husband Zenon. To cherish his memory, he leaves his son Frederick R. Brewster, III and his wife Tina of Westfield and daughter Laree Collingwood and husband Joseph III of Westfield. As well as his four grandchildren: Richard and Quinn Collingwood of Westfield, Jeffrey and Jimena Collingwood of Westfield, Elizabeth and Richard Clark of Montgomery and Timothy and Krystin Brewster of Blandford, and eight great-grandchildren: Skyler, Mason, Emma, Jeffrey, Rhea, Maia, Jayson, and Autumn. He also leaves his brother Ronnie Brewster and wife Darlene of Montgomery and sister Pat Nugent and husband Bert of Worthington. Along with many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours for Fred will be held on Wednesday, February 5th, 2025 from 10-12 Noon at Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield. A funeral service will follow at 12 Noon.
