A graduate of Bay Path University, she served her community as a Licensed Nurse, dedicating many years to her patients at Western Massachusetts Hospital with tireless compassion and skill. In 2002, she was honored with a Certificate of Service from the hospital—a testament to her remarkable commitment to patient care.
Gay’s joy for life was contagious. She found happiness in the simple pleasures—gathering with loved ones, dancing to her favorite tunes, and bringing laughter wherever she went. She enjoyed many cherished summers with her sister Linda and her family at Wakeda Campground in Hampton Falls, NH. She also found joy in scrapbooking, playing cards, walking, and attending her favorite class—Active Older Adults—at the Westfield YMCA. Later in life, she greatly enjoyed watching her favorite show, Gunsmoke. Her generosity, resilience, and deep love for others touched countless lives.
She was married for many years to Joseph Megliola of Springfield, who preceded her in death in 1996. Gay is survived by her children—Marie Poirier of Heath, Texas; Stephen Megliola of Westfield; and Anthony Megliola of San Diego, California—her treasured grandchildren: Ryan and Ella Megliola, and Jack, Jennifer, and Ben Poirier; and her beloved sister, Linda Lachapelle of South Hadley Falls.
