MELBOURNE, FL – George J. Renaudette Jr., 73, of Melbourne, FL was surrounded by family when he passed away after a brief illness in the early morning of Saturday February 2, 2019. He was born November 28, 1945 of the late George J. Renaudette Sr. and Jessie (Kotarski) Renaudette in Westfield, MA. Upon graduation from Westfield Vocational High School, he proudly served his country in the United States Army, serving in Vietnam, and later in the Air National Guard. George was a dedicated member of the Westfield Loyal Order of the Moose, as well as the American Legion Post 124 and later joined the Legion Riders of Post 81. In addition to his full-time job, George started a side business, George Renaudette Remodeling, where he enjoyed having his sons work with him and helping people’s remodeling dreams come to life. After working for 40 years as the Shipping and Receiving Manager at Micro Abrasive Corp., George retired and moved to Melbourne, FL with his wife Pat Renaudette. George became a dedicated member of Crossroads Community Church, where he wore many hats. One of his greatest achievements was creating the Win Win program: He would complete handyman work and the only “fee” required by the customer was a donation to the church. He always said that he wanted to pay it forward in advance, hoping that when he was older, someone would be there to help him. George was loved and respected by all. He was the first person to reach out with a helping hand and anyone that ever met George will miss his warm, welcoming smile and kind heart. He loved to use his old school flip phone and insisted he didn’t need to know how to send a text message. He enjoyed the frequent trips to Home Depot, Lowes and Ace Hardware with his dog and best buddy Heidi. George was predeceased by his son Georgie J. Renaudette III, his sister Rosemarie (Renaudette) Karakla and his brother-in-law Richard Karakla. He took extreme pride in his children and grandchildren. He will be incredibly missed by the family he leaves behind; the love of his life Pat Renaudette, his children; Tammy Renaudette of Norwich, CT, James Renaudette and his wife Dawn, Joseph Renaudette and his wife Beth, all of Westfield, MA. His step-son Steven Phelon and his wife Sandy of Granby, CT and his step-daughter Kathleen Brooks and her husband Alan of Southwick, MA and his grandchildren Austin, James, Christopher, Emma, Jenna and Megan. A service will be held at Crossroads Community Church Friday, February 8, 2019 at 11 am. In addition, there will be a celebration of life ceremony at American Legion Post 81 Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 3:30 pm. A service in Westfield, MA will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Crossroads Community Church or the American Legion.
