WESTFIELD – Gladys (Quinones) Gomez, 84, of Westfield, died Monday, June 17, 2013 in Noble Hospital. She was born on March 17, 1929 in Humacao, Puerto Rico to Ramon and Petra (Toro Castillo) Quinones and has lived in Westfield since 1952. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Westfield and was a member of Las Confradas Group.Gladys leaves her husband of sixty-one years, Francisco Gomez and her children; Roberto Gomez and his wife Idalia Lopez of Humacao, Puerto Rico, Raul Gomez of Westfield, Elys Miranda and her husband Julio of Westfield and Judith Chlastawa and her husband Frank of Westfield; she also leaves a brother, Ramon Quinones and his wife Irma of Puerto Rico; three sisters, Sonia Rodriguez and her husband Raul of Florida, Elsie Alicea and her husband Miguel Angel and Evelyn Lebron and her husband Pablo all of Puerto Rico and seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be Friday, June 21, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. from Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
