WESTFIELD – Senior Travon Godette of Orange had a strong showing for the Westfield State men’s indoor track & field team, winning the high jump at the Jen & Todd Hutton Invitational at Utica College.
Godette won the event with a jump of 2.03 meters, or 6-feet-8.
Sophomore Dereck Stone of Bellingham took first place in the long jump, clearing 6.57 meters for the win.
The Owls also won the 4×400-meter relay with a team of freshman. Matthew Bergin, Dorian Johnson, Estefan Jack, and Jordan Oquendo took first place with a time of 3:28.60.
Senior Mike Skelly of Pepperell placed second in the 3000-meter run, while senior Zack Delisle of Chicopee finished second in the pole vault, clearing 4.5 meters on his third jump.
The Owls will return to action after the winter break, competing in the Springfield College Open on January 23.
