GRANVILLE – On Friday night, the Granville Police Department posted on their Facebook page that the entrance gate to the town transfer station on Water Street appeared to be damaged.

According to Granville Police Lt. Rick Rindels, the Granville Highway Department discovered the gate damaged last Tuesday morning. Rindels added that it clearly looks like the gate was damaged by a motor vehicle that may have slid into the gate since there were various pieces of a car’s bumper left near the gate.

Although there were no reports or witnesses, the Granville Police Department will continue to investigate the incident.

As for the gate, it’s only a year old and now the town of Granville plans on getting a new gate to replace the damaged one.
