WESTFIELD – With profound love and gratitude for a life well lived, we announce the passing of Gregoria Serrano, (1937 – 2026) who entered eternal rest on July 9th, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on May 8th, 1937, in Caguas, Puerto Rico, Gregoria was the beloved daughter of Jose Garcia and Marcelina Flores. She built her life on faith, love, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to her family. Her greatest joy was caring for those she loved, and she leaves behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and devotion that will continue to inspire generations.
Gregoria shared 65 wonderful years of marriage with the love of her life, Angel Luis Serrano, Sr., who preceded her in death in 2020. She was also preceded in death by her beloved son, William Serrano, in 2016, and her cherished daughter, Carmen Ramos, in 2007. She is lovingly remembered by her children: Gloria Rivera of Springfield; Ana Santiago and her husband, Juan, of Westfield; Domingo Serrano and his wife, Maggie, of Westfield; Evelyn Serrano of Westfield; Angel Serrano, Jr. and his wife, Marisol, of Sterling, Virginia; Carlos Serrano and his wife Yolanda of Purcellville, Virginia; and Sandra Loya and her husband, Michael, of Westfield. Gregoria was the proud grandmother of thirty grandchildren and the cherished great-grandmother of twenty-two great-grandchildren. She was the heart of a large and loving family, a mother not only to her own children but to many others whose lives she touched with her warmth, generosity, and guidance.
She found happiness in life’s simple pleasures, especially spending time with her family and friends, enjoying a good game of bingo, or taking a fun trip to the casino. Her laughter, gentle spirit, and unconditional love created countless treasured memories that her family will hold close forever. Gregoria’s life was a beautiful example of love, sacrifice, and resilience. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy lives on through the family she so dearly loved and the values she instilled in each of them. May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with her beloved husband, son, daughter, and all those who have gone before her. She will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
