TORRINGTON: Gregory (Greg) Clifton Messenger, 58, (1963-2021) born January 14, 1963, son of Clifton (deceased February 13, 1966) and Carolyn Avery Messenger in Westfield, MA passed peacefully in his sleep from a heart condition on June 4, 2021.
Greg supervised the truck yard for MSSL, a national truck service, in Newington and Windsor Locks. Earlier work showed his amazing talent in operating heavy equipment, and doing beautiful stone work and landscaping on his property in Tolland, MA. He was an awesome grill cook.
Greg leaves his much loved son, Jeffery S. Messenger, Torrington; his adored girlfriend Kim Kelly, New Haven; mother Carolyn Avery Mills and step-father Robert Mills, Southwick, MA; brother Stephen Messenger (wife Michele) and sister JoAnne Henderson (partner Charles Woodger), Tolland, MA; step-sister Michelle Garcia, Chula Vista, CA; step-brother, Steven Mills (wife Auna), Oak Creek, CO; step-daughter, Anna Morgana, Groton, CT; and step-son Brian Demonstranti, Watertown, MA; and a large extended family.
A celebration of Greg’s life will be held on Saturday, June 26th at 1 p.m. at the Tolland Safety Complex, 206 West Granville Road, Tolland, MA 01034 with a meal and visitation to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the Tolland Fire Dept., same address.
