WESTFIELD – Greta (Knudsen) Stone, 68, of Westfield died Tuesday, January 22, 2013. She was born in Putnam, CT on January 30, 1944 to John and Helen (Miner) Knudsen.Greta grew up in Southwick, was a 1961 graduate of Westfield High School and has lived in Westfield for the past forty years. She was employed for twenty-five years as a secretary for the Children’s Study Home in Springfield. Greta enjoyed deep sea fishing in Maine, gardening, walking and cooking for her family and friends.
Greta leaves her children, Chester Faunce and his wife Anne of Westfield and their children, Joshua and Jacob, Shelley Conti of Holyoke and her children, Alisha and Deanna, Robert Stone and his wife Jenny of West Lebanon, NH and their son John, Michael Stone and his wife Alison of Wilbraham and their children Alexa and Cole; her sister, Paula Cimma of Estero, FL; 1 niece and 3 nephews and many lifelong friends. She was predeceased by Robert “Fuzzy” White, his children are Kathy, Robert, James and Susan and spouses. The family would like to thank the staff at both Wingate Nursing Home and Life Choice Hospice for the great care that was given to Greta.
The funeral for Greta will be held on Saturday, January 26th at 12:00 noon from the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield. Burial will be in the Spring in New Cemetery in Southwick. Calling hours will be held Saturday morning from 10:00 a.m. -12:00 noon prior to the service.
