CHESTER: Harold A. Phelps, 56, died Thursday, January 7, 2016 in Chester. He was born on February 12, 1959 in Sharon, MA. He moved to Westfield in 1965, attended local schools and was a 1977 graduate of Westfield High School and a 1981 graduate of Plymouth State College. He worked for Court Realty and then owned and operated P&P Construction and was a Steeple Jack. He was an avid motorcycle racer and enjoyed mountain and ice climbing. He was a wrestler in high school and college and was a wrestling official for many years. He was a member of Chester Railway Association. Harry leaves his brothers, Scott Phelps of Westfield, David Phelps and his wife Veronica and their children Amanda and Michael of Westfield, his sister Tracey St. Jean of Westfield and her children Erica, Paul, Suzanne, Nicole, Rachel, Julie, Grace, Mark and Leila and many great-nieces and nephews. Harry was pre-deceased by his father David Phelps Sr. and his mother and step father Elaine and Philip Garde. A memorial service for Harry will be held on Saturday, January 16, at 12 Noon at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield. Burial will be private. Calling hours will precede the service Saturday from 10-12 noon.
