Harold E. Crooker

Southwick – Harold Ernest Crooker, 92, (1926–2018) of Southwick, died on May 10th, 2018 at the Westfield Gardens Nursing Home. Harold was a decorated WWII infantryman in General George Patton’s Third Army. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star, had 3 battle stars, and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Harold survived although 2/3rds of his company did not. He was an MP and former Hampden County Sheriff’s Deputy and he worked at Hamilton Standard for 36 years. Harold raised three sons with his wife, Jennie, 90, who predeceased him in 2013. Peter, his youngest also predeceased him in 2016. Harold is survived by his two sons, Michael of Southwick and his daughter, Shannon Byrd of Centralia, Washington and Stephen (Pamela) Crooker of Westfield and their 3 sons, Jake, Nicholas and Casey Crooker; his step-daughter, Linda Lindemann of Agawam and her 3 children, Heather (Pepper) Gill, Jodi Pepper and Ben Pepper. Family and friends are invited to meet for a Committal Service with Military Honors on Wednesday May 16th at 11:00 AM in the chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam.
