SOUTHWICK: Harry R. Ryder, 89, passed away at home peacefully on Thursday, September 30, 2021. He was born in East Orange, NJ to the late Robert and Margaret Ryder. Harry and his wife Joan retired in 1998 and moved to New England to settle in Southwick MA.
He was a communicant of St. Peters Church and a member of various church social groups. Harry could always be found in his woodshop making toys and crafts for all to enjoy. Harry was pre-deceased by his wife Joan, of 64 years.
He is survived by his three children, Dolores A. Racz and her husband Jeffery of Worthington, Nancy C. Boersig and her husband George of Westfield and Thomas J. Ryder of Flanders, NJ. and his four grandchildren, Katylyn Racz, Richard Racz, Timothy Boersig and his wife Rachel and Sara McGowan and her husband Michael and one great grandchild Quinton Ryder McGowan.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, with a Mass at 9:30AM in St. Peter’s/St. Casmir’s Church, State St. Westfield, followed by burial in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Main St. Agawam. There are no calling hours. www.firtionadams.com
