SOUTHWICK- Hazel R. (Frank) Jameson, 86, of Southwick, MA, was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Louis and Gertrude (Swenson) Yeoman on November 19, 1926, the last of four children, Alfred, Althea, and Phyllis, all deceased.
She moved to Levittown, L.I. with her late husband, Heywood M. Bronson in 1949. She became a widow with 2 small children at age 23. In 1951 she married Walter M. Frank and a second daughter was added to their family. In 1955 the Frank family relocated to the Boston area, making their home in Medfield, MA where they were both very active in town affairs, serving in the PTA, School Committee, Park and Recreation Commission, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. Hazel was the Governor’s appointee to the newly formed Housing Authority and later served as its chairman for several years, and was honored at the opening of the Housing for the elderly apartments called Tilden Village by having the Hazel R. Frank Community Building named in her honor. She also held positions in the Westwood Evangelical Free Church on their Missions Board, in the Women’s Society and Deaconate. She served the church as Soprano soloist and loved being part of the choir. In September, 1991, Walter, her husband of 40 years died after a long illness and in 1994 Hazel completed a dream they had been unable to fulfill. She took a 3 1/2 month tour of the United States in a small RV, visiting many relatives and friends and touring a number of State Houses.
In 1996 Hazel moved into one of the early cottages at the American Inn Retirement Community where she enjoyed being part of many activities. She became one of the Sunshine Committee, visiting hospitalized or shut-in residents, which she claimed was a great joy for her. In October 2000, another resident Bradford W. Jameson and Hazel were married in the dining room of the American Inn. Brad and Hazel were married 7 years when he died unexpectedly. They were active members of the Westfield Evangelical Free Church and were blessed by the warm fellowship they enjoyed there as part of the church family, especially the Senior Saints. Hazel also loved her ministry in the church library, being an avid reader and writer.
Hazel leaves her children, Toni and Bill Pudlo, Jay Frank and Ann Pember, and Laura and Brian Koch. She also leaves her grandchildren, Rachel and Molly Koch, Aaron and Coleen Pudlo and their children and grandchildren, Adam and Angela Pudlo and their children, Johanna and Stephen Jack and their children, Jessica and Tim Moody and their children, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews and dear friends.
