WESTFIELD – Helen G. (Juknevicz) Hagan, 87, of Westfield died Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Noble Hospital. She was born in Westfield on November 28, 1925 to Julius and Louise Juknevicz.
Helen was educated in Westfield schools. She spent many years working in retail stores in Westfield. Helen was the manager of the Bell Shops women’s clothing store in the 1960’s. She later worked for many years at the Drug Shop Pharmacy. During the 1970’s and 1980’s, she returned to school to earn degrees from Holyoke Community College and Westfield State University. This led to a nine year career as a social worker for Holyoke/Chicopee Elder Services. She retired in 1987.
Her husband, George F. Hagan Sr., died in 2000. Helen leaves her son, Daniel Hagan, Sr. and his wife, Christine of Easthampton, MA and their son, Daniel Hagan, Esq. of Southampton, MA; her son, George Hagan and his wife, Sally of Agawam, MA and their two children, Corey and Courtney Hobbs. Helen also leaves behind one sister, Irene Prest of Westfield, MA, and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, with burial to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. A Calling hour will precede the service at the funeral home from 10:00-11:00 a.m.
