FLORENCE- Helen (Kaleta) Hardy, age 93, of Florence died October 20 at CareOne in Northampton. She was born on June 24, 1925 and raised in Southampton, a daughter of the late parents Stanley and Agatha Kaleta. Helen attended the Cooley Dickinson Nursing Program. She worked as a Licenced Practical Nurse at the Ryder Nursing Home for several years. Helen’s late husband Edward was a member of the Antique Auto Club, and although she was a happy homebody, Helen enjoyed joining Edward for outings and events. Helen is predeceased by her brothers Charles Kaleta, John Kaleta, Wallace Kaleta, and Arthur Kaleta, and her sisters Mary Wzorek, Anna Sadlowski, and Sophie Bushey. Helen is survived by her daughter Linda Kozlov-Turner and husband Tom of Westminster CO, and grandchildren Daniella, Hannah, Adam, and Wesley, great-grandchildren Rio and Karma, all in Colorado. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, including her caregivers, niece Agnas and husband Robert Banas. The family gives a special thank you to the nurses and staff at CareOne of Northampton and Hospice of Cooley Dickinson for their thoughtful and caring attention.
A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 24 at 10:30 AM at Annunciation Chapel at 85 Beacon St. in Florence with Rites of Committal and burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery at 235 North Elm St. in Northampton.
